International Cooperation

December 15, 2008 – the Investors’ Compensation Fund and the similar institution from Bulgary, The Bulgarian Investors Compensation Fund, establish an Understanding Memorandum which aims to facilitate and encourage good relationships between the two institutions. The Memorandum determines the periodic exchange of information regarding the role, experience and activity of each Fund, as well as cooperation in the event of a compensation case.

October 10, 2008 – the Investors’ Compensation Fund becomes an associate of the European Forum of Deposit Insurers (EFDI), along with the investor compensation schemes from other 9 Member States of the European Union (Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland and Portugal) and Turkey. EFDI aims at facilitating the dialogue among members (deposit guarantee schemes in the banking system as full members and investor compensation schemes as associates) as well as exchanging expertise and information on issues of mutual interest and concern.
